Gorgeous earrings and pin by the Mexican silversmith Miguel Melendez. A great metalworker trained by Antonio Castillo. Known for repousse and enamel work. In this set, the stones appear to be amethyst (have not been tested), with flea bites and inclusions...ESPECIALLY on the pin's stone. Stones also appear to be slightly different shades. Great modernist feeling to these pieces.

The earrings are marked...one with a 3 EAGLE mark, a partial TAX, the encircled M mark for Miguel Melendez. The other earring appears to be marked STERLING, MADE IN MEX.... The pin is more clearly marked with a 3 EAGLE mark, STERLING, the encircled M, and TAXCO. Metals are NOT tested in my possession.

The pin measures approx. 2 1/8" by approx. 1 3/4". Each earring measures approx. 15/16" tall by approx. 11/16" at the widest point.

Good vintage condition. Simple pin mechanism is in working order, but slightly bent. Clip backs are also in working order. Light patina to the metal. Please expect some surface wear and scratches. These have NOT been polished in my possession.

These are older and have been worn, please expect surface scratches and surface wear. Please look closely at the photos...many of which are magnified, as they are close-up shots. Color does vary with different screens. Patinas do darken in storage. I am always happy to answer questions.

Vintage. Do NOT use liquid silver polish or harsh chemicals on pieces with stones (especially turquoise) as those substances will cause damage. A simple silver cloth will do, taking care to avoid the stones as much as possible.
