Vintage Sterling Silver 925 Gold Vermeil Aksel Holmsen Norway Set Brooch Pin Clip Earrings Guilloche Enamel

Love these! Beautiful vintage Holmsen set...pin and clip on earrings. Gorgeous white enamel! Leaf-like design. Would make an excellent gift from someone special...maybe even oneself!

Norwegian, by artist Aksel Holmsen. Holmsen manufactured high quality jewelry in Sandefjord, Norway. Beautiful white guilloche enamel links. Subtle undulating line design within the enamel. Guilloche is a process where metal is treated to “machine-engraved decoration…over which a translucent enamel is often applied”. (pg. 266 of Warman’s Jewelry Identification and Price Guide 2002)

All pieces are marked NORWAY, STERLING, HOLMSEN HALLMARK, 925, and S. This set, according to the mark, is pre-1970. Descriptions are based on the markings.

The pin measures approx. 2 1/4" long by approx. 3/4" at the widest point. The clip earrings each measure approx. 7/8" at the tallest point by approx. 3/8" at the widest point.

Vintage condition. Clips are in working order. Pin mechanism is tight and in working order. Dark patina to the vermeil sterling. Please expect some light surface wear and scratches. These have NOT been polished in my possession.

These are older and have been worn, please expect surface scratches and surface wear. Please look closely at the photos...many of which are magnified, as they are close-up shots. Color does vary with different screens. Patinas do darken in storage. I am always happy to answer questions.

Vintage. Do NOT use liquid silver polish or harsh chemicals on pieces with stones (especially turquoise) as those substances will cause damage. A simple silver cloth will do, taking care to avoid the stones as much as possible.
